April 04--NEWAYGO -- The Newaygo County Prosecutor's Office is reviewing a 911 call that was made Tuesday evening where the caller believed a homicide had just taken place.
Responding officers set up a perimeter at 9284 West 8th Street in Newaygo County when a caller ran from the residence after seeing a male face down in a hallway of the home with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the back.
The caller also stated they'd witnessed the female homeowner in possession of a firearm.
After police arrived on scene, both the male and the female inside the home came out and were taken into custody.
Detectives soon realized the male and female inside the home had setup a fake murder scene to trick a friend that had come to visit.
No arrests were made at the scene, but the report has been forwarded to the Newaygo County Prosecutor's Office for review.
The Newaygo County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Pro Med Ambulance, Fremont Police Department, Hesperia Police Department and the Oceana County Sheriff's Office.
