Two Fla. Women Charged With Battery on Officers

Two Marianna women are accused of hitting Marianna Police Department officers and threatening them with a wooden stick.

April 30--Two Marianna women are accused of hitting Marianna Police Department officers and threatening them with a wooden stick on April 27.

According to a MPD press release, Keioshia Lashwantae Mckinnon and Simone Monique Butler were charged with battery on law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence and public affray.

MPD said officers tried to stop the car entering into Marianna Garden Apartment, but the driver didn't comply. After the driver parked in front of the "J" building, MPD tried to get their identification. The press release states Mckinnon and Butler refused and began causing a commotion. Police say the two began hitting officers and threatening them with a wooden stick.

They were arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail for first appearance.
