May 01--ADA -- An Ada woman was arrested two times in one day for driving under the influence, police said.
Ada police arrested 29-year-old Gloria Boettcher just after 3 a.m. Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants after a traffic stop.
Ada Police officer Kevin Heck said Boettcher made a "very wide turn" onto 18th Street from South Johnston, which made him suspicious.
"The vehicle then entered into eastbound traffic before going back into the correct westbound lane of travel," Heck said in a report. "I then turned around and made the traffic stop in the 500 block of West 15th."
Heck said Boettcher had slurred speech and poor hand/eye contact.
"She had a very hard time attempting to open her glove box to find her insurance," Heck said. Heck performed a test to detect the presence of narcotics, which he said she failed. Heck said he located several bottles of medication prescribed to Boettcher which included Xanax and Clonazepam, among others. She was arrested and taken to the Pontotoc County Justice Center.
Jail officials said Boettcher was released just after noon on a $300 bond.
At 5:45 p.m., Ada Police officer Brad Rhoads said he noticed a vehicle weaving in traffic and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Arlington and Country Club. Rhoads said it appeared to him Boettcher's motor skills were impaired.
She was given a test to detect the influence of drugs which Rhoads said she failed. Ada police believed she was under the influence of depressants, Rhoads said. She was again arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
Her bond for the second alleged offense was set at $50,000.
