July 01--Additional charges have been filed against Francis Salatino III of Gillett for various acts that he is accused of having committed while serving as an elected Pennsylvania state constable, state police said.
On Friday, the 51-year-old Salatino was charged with one count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, one count of unlawful restraint, one count of prostitution and related offenses, one count of criminal trespass, two counts of false imprisonment, nine counts of official oppression, one count of solicitation/impersonating a public service, one count of harassment, and furnishing alcohol to minors, police said.
The charges that were filed Friday involve nine victims, including a 20-year-old male and eight females, police said. One of the female victims is 17, three are 21, and the others are 27, 29, 30 and 48 years old, police said.
The crimes against these victims occurred at various locations in Bradford County, police said.
Salatino was arrested and arraigned in District Court 42-3-02, police said. Salatino was released after posting $15,000 cash bail, state police said.
Salatino is scheduled to face the charges at a preliminary hearing on July 11.
Salatino was charged in late May with prostitution and related offenses and official oppression because he allegedly offered a woman money in 2011 to perform a sex act on him while she was in his custody, police said.
The charges that were filed in late May are still pending in Towanda District Court.
