CENTERVILLE, Ind.
Authorities are searching for two men who impersonated police officers in an overnight robbery.
A Centerville couple said two men, one brandishing a gun and identifying himself as a police officer, burst into their home in the 9700 block of U.S. 40 West, Lot 25 overnight and robbed them of money and prescription drugs, detectives said.
Dolores and Michael Arnold told investigators they were in bed watching TV and their 7-year-old twins were sleeping in another room when two men forced entry into the home, the Pal-Item reported.
One man identified himself as a police officer while pointing a gun at the couple, demanding money and drugs, Wayne County Sheriff Jeff Cappa said.
No one was injured in the incident, according to the reports.
Cappa said the woman described the intruder as a stocky, white man wearing blue jeans, with a shirt and hat that had ?POLICE? printed on them.
The second man was described as being slightly taller than the first. The victims said the second man did not say anything during the incident, Cappa said.
Police said the intruders escaped with some prescriptions drugs and $65 in cash.
The victims told officers they did not hear a vehicle leaving the area after the robbery.
Sheriff?s detectives said they will continue to investigate the incident, but no suspects have been identified or arrested, Cappa said.
