Sept. 17-- Three juveniles were taken into police custody after leading officers on a vehicle chase near a local park Sunday.

Authorities received an anonymous tip at 4:30 p.m. that a group of juveniles were planning to fight at Mohawk Park armed with a gun, said Tulsa police Sgt. Karen Tipler.

Once police arrived at the scene, the teens fled west in a vehicle on 36th Street North, Tipler said.

During the chase, police used stop sticks in an effort to blow the tires, but the driver of the car continued to drive in the 3000 block of North Lewis, police said.

Officers deployed additional stop sticks to disable the tires, Tipler said.

The three juveniles were arrested without incident, Tipler said. Police recovered an assault rifle and marijuana during a search of the vehicle, Tipler said.

Tipler said the juveniles were expected to be arrested on complaints of eluding, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm.
