GWINNETT COUNTY, Georgia -- A Gwinnett County sheriff’s deputy was fired after officials alleged he had sexual intercourse with women while on duty.

An anonymous letter was received about the allegations in December, Channel 2 Action News reported. The complaint, written by someone known only as Michael, alleged that former deputy Chase Peden bragged about using his county-issued car and handcuffs with women during sex.

The letter also mentioned an incident in which Peden met a woman at the Collins Hill Road fire station, Channel 2 reported. In an interview with Gwinnett sheriff’s internal affairs investigators, Peden denied the allegations and said the woman was a soccer coach he met with for personal business.

Peden did admit to meeting his wife a few times while on duty, Channel 2 reported.

Authorities interviewed nearly two dozen employees and looked at Peden’s cellphone records during the investigation, the news station reported. Peden was ultimately fired after he failed a polygraph test.

Peden is appealing his firing with the merit board.
