Peak Beam Systems Inc.'s remote-controlled searchlight system was designed specifically for border surveillance. The 12-million CandlePower Maxa Beam searchlight is housed in a lightweight aluminum enclosure with an internal cooling system that allows the searchlight to operate continuously under any extreme weather condition. The system weighs 10 pounds and mounts to pan/tilt devices. It is remotely controlled via a computer with RS232, RS422 or Ethernet communications that are sent via hard wire or wireless transmission. The remote user can control the searchlight's beam intensity and beam width as well as its effective and disabling variable-rate non-lethal strobe function.
