Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video Products Group, a business unit of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., has broadened its extensive line of IP-centric video surveillance solutions with the new Surveillix ESV16 Linux-based embedded network video recorder (NVR).
Designed specifically for small to mid-size scale surveillance applications, the ESV16 is a flexible, highly-scalable network appliance with support for up to 16 IP cameras and 12TB of removable hard-drive storage, along with maximum data transfer rates of 250 Mbps.
As a standalone surveillance system, the ESV16 delivers simultaneous monitoring, recording, and playback with compatibility for hundreds of IP camera models from over thirty brands, as well as all ONVIF compliant devices. Audio and video streams encoded in H.264, MPEG4 or MJPEG formats can be recorded. This broad compatibility is extended to its removable HDD list that includes drives from Samsung, Seagate, Western Digital and Hitachi.
The ESV16's unique cube shape has internal bays for up to four HDDs totaling 12TB, helping network administrators achieve cost-efficient scalability to meet growing security requirements. Storage can be further extended through an external eSATA connection. Multiple ESV16 units can be deployed within a network to build a larger system.
Remote Monitoring on Phones & Tablets
The ESV16's user-frendly GUI interfaces on LANs, browsers or mobile apps to minimize investigation times and ensure network connectivity wherever the user goes. Apple iPad, iPhone and all Android devices are supported, while a VGA output allows for live viewing on a local monitor.
Having pre-configured hardware lets a technician install the ESV16 right out of the box without requiring additional software or IP licenses. Users save even more with limited training and support costs because the interface is simple and intuitive.
ESV16 recorders are backed by a 2-year limited warranty with 1-year advanced replacement.
