Second Chance announced that it has released its new family of armor solutions – The Summit ST. The Summit ST design was developed to offer an all DuPont Kevlar ballistic package. DuPont Kevlar fibers have pioneered the industry in the science of ballistic protection for more than 40 years. By uniting Kevlar with GORE-TEX fabrics, Second Chance has created one of the thinnest, most flexible vests available.
The Summit ST line features an advanced, thin and flexible all Kevlar hybrid design providing unmatched ballistic protection. This patented, unidirectional Kevlar aramid fiber provides increased protection against special threats and backface deformation. Additionally, the Summit ST features a GORE-TEX breathable and anti-bacterial panel covering to help prevent germs and odor from accumulating. This panel also helps to reduce heat build-up which keeps the officer cooler and ultimately more comfortable.
The Summit ST female ballistic package offers outstanding protection and introduces a design that contours to the female form for a level of comfort unique to each body. All Second Chance concealable armor models are certified using NIJ approved size templates C1 and C5, which offer law enforcement officers the widest range of production sizes available.
The Summit ST family of body armor is available in a type II and type IIIA threat level in the standard model and the type II threat level in the female-structured model. The female-structured model in type IIIA threat level will be released later this year.
