Body Camera Video Shows Louisville Police Officer Shoot Armed Suspect
Body camera footage has been released showing a Louisville, Kentucky Metro Police officer shoot and wound an armed suspect last week.
Officer Michael Roberson responded to a robbery report at a Family Dollar store on West Broadway and 13th Street downtown around 8:45 p.m. when the incident occurred, according to WDRB-TV.
Officials said that 24-year-old Dominique Hardiman allegedly went into the front of the store with a gun, grabbed the cash and ran out a rear entrance.
"Mr. Hardiman brandished a firearm, fired multiple shots inside of the business and initiated a robbery," Lt. Aaron Crowell told reporters.
Body camera videos shows the officer arrive on the scene and go around the side to the rear of the business as the suspect can be seen coming around the corner. That's when the shooting occurred.
The suspect was seen on the ground with an apparent gunshot to the thigh as another officer disarmed him as he lay on the ground.
Hardiman was taken to University Hospital, treated and released to Louisville Metro Corrections.
