Watch NYPD Officers Rescue Woman from Slick Brooklyn Bridge

Body camera footage captured an NYPD officer scaling a slippery Brooklyn Bridge without safety equipment as he talked down a woman threatening to jump.

Two NYPD officers braved rain-slickened conditions to rescue a woman threatening to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge last week.

The incident happened shortly before 4 p.m. March 6 when Lt. Hak Kim and Officer Brendan Giardino responded to a report of a woman walking along a beam toward the cables on the Brooklyn Bridge, WABC-TV reports. When the officers reached the scene, Kim began talking with the woman to coax her back to the bridge.

"I don't know what kind of trouble you're having, what kind of problem you're going through. We're gonna help you out. Save your life, it's not worth it," Kim's heard saying in body camera footage from the rescue, "Trust me, I got three kids. … I don't know if you have a kid. We care about you, OK? Don't do this."

As the woman began talking with Kim, Giardino kept hold of the lieutenant while he began to climb up the slippery bridge. Kim advanced 25 feet in the rain without safety equipment to reach the woman.

After about a half hour of talking, Kim was able to get a hold of the woman's leg, and she climbed down with him off the bridge.
