Two Phoenix police officers recently helped a man who was "down on his luck" by getting him shoes and clothes.
This week, the department released body camera footage of the officers' act of kindness in January. The officers had encountered a man sitting outside a bank.
"Two officers came across a man, down on his luck, with no socks or shoes on a cold January night," the department stated in a social media post.
When the officers discovered the man couldn't find shoes in his size, they called a nearby to see if they carried the right size shoe. They then took him to pick up the footwear and other items.
"Within 20 minutes, the officers spent $80 of their own money to get him a pair of shoes, socks, pants, and a new shirt," the department stated.
