Let's see what kind of review this DoorDash driver receives.

A 23-year-old pregnant Warren woman was recently delivering groceries for her DoorDash gig when she was involved in a crash with another motorist on Metropolitan Parkway near Dodge Park Road in Sterling Heights.

The Feb. 22 crash rendered Bryanna Fantozzi's 2010 Ford Fusion inoperable and required the woman to be medically checked out at the hospital, leaving her unable to deliver groceries to her customer.

That is, until Lt. David Allen of the Sterling Heights Police Department, one of the officers who responded to the crash scene, agreed to complete the delivery for Fantozzi as she was transported by ambulance to the medical facility.

"Sure, I'll take it for you," Allen said, according to a bodycam video of the aftermath.

Allen and Officer Kyle Smith emptied Fantozzi's vehicle of the Meijer groceries, including a bag of strawberries and Minute Maid orange juice, along with hot food from Art & Jake's Sports Bar.

Allen drove to the customer's house a couple of blocks from the crash scene and delivered the order.

The customer, Genna Pizzo, who had to order DoorDash, due to her having four kids at home, was informed of the police delivery by Fantozzi. According to the bodycam video, she expressed concern for the injured driver.

Reached by phone, Fantozzi said she temporarily lost consciousness from the crash, and bumped her belly and knee, which is why she wanted medical treatment. But she still had the customer's order in her back seat and didn't want to abandon the goods.

"My car was being towed with all the lady's stuff in the back seat," said Fantozzi, whose sister and young daughter were also in the car at the time of the crash.

"So I said, 'oh my God, I should ask this cop if he would please finish the delivery,' which he did. I felt so bad because I couldn't deliver the order, but the officer made me feel good. He helped calm me down."

Fantozzi was also impressed Sterling Heights police made it to the crash scene in 4 minutes. Based on past experience with other departments, that is a fast response time.

Lt. Mario Bastianelli, a spokesperson for the police department, chalked it up to just another day in the life of a Sterling Heights police officer.

"The Sterling Heights Police Department strives to deliver above and beyond service at all times," he said in a statement. "This is just another exemplary incident by our officers to best serve our community."
