New Video Footage Shows Las Vegas Police Response to UNLV Shooting
A second set of body camera videos show Las Vegas police struggling with locked doors as they search a UNLV campus building to find a gunman who shot and killed three faculty members.
New body camera footage of December's shooting on the UNLV campus was released by Las Vegas police Tuesday, and it captures more of officers' response to the incident.
In one instance, officers tried to kick down a locked door. Later, police used flashbangs to get doors open.
This is the second set of videos released by Las Vegas police. The first videos showed officers confronting Polito, who was fatally shot by police roughly 10 minutes after they reached the scene.
Polito was armed with a Taurus handgun and was carrying around 150 rounds and 11 magazines. A list of targets was found in his apartment, and investigators found that he had mailed over 20 letters to UNLV faculty and to staffers at East Carolina University, where he had previously worked.
