Watch Fla. Police Officer Deliver Food after Man's Bike Breaks Down

A Tallahassee police officer helped out an Uber Eats delivery man whose bicycle had sustained a punctured tire by completing his food order to a grateful family.

A Florida police officer helped complete an Uber Eats order last month after the delivery man's bicycle broke down.

The food carrier was delivering an order on a hot July 16 evening when his bike tire was punctured, according to a social media post by the Tallahassee Police Department. After his bike broke down, the man mistakenly called 9-1-1 but quickly hung up.

Because of the hang-up, an officer responded to the scene and saw the delivery man's plight.

"Noticing the man was stressed about not completing the order, the officer quickly stepped in, and it wasn’t long before the waiting customer was greeted at her doorstep by an officer with her food," the department stated.

A body camera captured the officer's interaction with the delivery man and the grateful recipients of the food order.

"No shift is the same, and no call for service is the same," the department stated. "But no matter the need, our officers take pride in going above and beyond to help others in our community."
