Watch Dramatic Calif. Police Shootout with Double-Homicide Suspect
Newly released cellphone and body camera footage shows last month's dramatic shootout involving a double homicide suspect and California police that left an officer wounded.
The clash happened Nov. 13 after Christopher Farrell allegedly killed a couple in San Diego and then heading to Little Italy neighborhood, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. A bystander informed Port of San Diego Harbor Police concerning the armed suspect, and officers confronted Farrell.
One officer ordered Farrell to show his hands and drop his gun. Gunfire is heard in the footage, and the officer begins firing.
In the video, another officer falls to the ground after the shots ring out, and the shooting lasts for 12 seconds. Farrell was struck in the exchange and taken to the hospital, where he died.
The wounded officer was struck in the thigh by gunfire and was taken to the hospital and released.
