Three Egg Harbor Township police officers are credited with rescuing an unconscious driver from his burning vehicle after a crash, officials said.
A 32-year-old Egg Harbor Township man was heading east on Delilah Road on March 14 when his car left the roadway and crashed into a tree, police said in a statement.
The man was unconscious and trapped as the vehicle began to catch fire, police said.
According to a police statement, K-9 Officer Michael O’Hagan and Officer Dominik Newman were first on scene and began to free the driver from the heavily damaged vehicle.

O’Hagan and Newman successfully freed the unconscious driver from the vehicle. Meanwhile, Officer Matthew Perkins extinguished the spreading fire.
The man was treated on scene by Egg Harbor Township Emergency Medical Services and Atlanticare paramedics for traumatic injuries.
He was taken to the trauma unit at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center and listed in stable condition, police said.
Delilah Road between the intersections of the Black Horse Pike and English Creek Avenue was shut down for approximately four hours while the crash was being investigated and the roadway cleared.
The crash is being investigated by Officer Nathan Lahr of the Traffic Safety Unit.
