A suspect used a ladder to attack an LAPD K-9 during an hourslong standoff Thursday.
The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. in Los Angeles's Reseda neighborhood, KABC-TV reports. A man was armed with a metal stick and a knife in an intersection.
When the suspect wouldn't listen to officers' commands, police deployed a K-9. In video footage from the scene, the suspect began wildly swinging a ladder at the K-9, almost hitting the dog.
Hours later, police were able to get the suspect to surrender. No one was injured in the incident.
