The incident happened Jan. 7 when Volusia County sheriff's deputies in DeLand tried to stop a fugitive—identified as Randolph Brown—wanted on a Lake County warrant for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, the agency stated in a news release. The suspect, who had of fleeing deputies, bolted from the stop.

While trying to escape deputies, Brown struck two cruisers as he drove into oncoming traffic. He also crashed into two other vehicles before he was finally apprehended with a little help from Red, a sheriff's office K-9.
