The Greenlee County Attorney's Office has released video of a January shootout that left two officers wounded and the suspected gunman dead.
Greenlee County Deputy John Mennen and Clifton Police Sgt. Jason Mingura responded to a report of possible domestic violence around 11 p.m. on Jan. 26 when the incident took place, according to TucsonNewsNow.
Both officers were treated at the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson. Chris Ingram, 29, died from gunshot wounds sustained during the exchange of gunfire.
According to an investigation report, the incident began when Ingram went to visit his sister at her home, where he expressed frustration regarding his estranged wife, who had filed for divorce.
The siblings then went to a home in Morenci, where they found his estranged wife with another man. Ingram and his estranged wife had two confrontations before he told his sister to go home and stated that "Things are going to get bad, you better leave."
Shortly before midnight, the Greenlee County Sheriff's Office received two reports, and when officers attempted to pull over the truck described in both calls, Ingram did not immediately stop.
When Mennen approached Ingram, he appeared to be "combative" and leaned forward as if concealing something in his lap. The deputy instructed Ingram to show his hands, but he instead began firing at him.
Mennen was hit twice, once in his abdomen into his bulletproof vestand in his shoulder above his vest.
Ingram then got out of the truck and fired atMingura, who was shot in his left hand and buttocks.
Mennen returned fire on Ingram, who fell to the ground.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety conducted a criminal investigation of the incident and a separate investigation into the actions of the officers in response to the incident was also conducted.
