A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper injured last month after he was assaulted was released from the hospital Friday night.
Trooper Zachary Bader sustained serious injuries on Oct. 24 as he was making a traffic stop near Rapid City, according to a news release.
Four suspects, who were in the vehicle, were charged in connection to the assault.
Bader, a 10-year veteran of the Highway Patrol, was greeted by co-workers and community members as he left the hospital in Rapid City.
"Trooper Bader and his family continue to be in our thoughts and prayers as his recovery continues," Col. Craig Price, superintendent of the Highway Patrol, said in a statement. "We look forward to the day when he returns to duty."
