Police in Meshoppen, Pennsylvania arrested a woman they say sprayed a driver with gasoline at a service station last week.

Police Chief John Krieg said he was called around 5:45 p.m. on June 30 to the Mehoopany Dandy Mart, where two women had been pumping gas, according to The Citizens Voice.

When the chief arrived on the scene, Tami Donovan told him that she was pumping gas and saw another driver, later identified as Kimberly Brinton, smoking a cigarette. Donovan then told Brinton to put the cigarette out, but the 51-year-old refused.

The confrontation escalated and Donovan is alleged to have thrown windshield washer cleaner with water toward the cigarette to put it out. Donovan got in her car to leave when Brinton started screaming at the woman that she was going to cover her in gas and "light her ass on fire," according to a complaint.

As Donovan sat in her car, Brinton sprayed her on two occasions with gasoline from the pump.

Krieg said that Brinton was not on the scene when he arrived to investigate, but he positively ID'd her from video footage.

Brinton faces charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and simple assault.
