A suspect was arrested after intentionally plowing through a group of Phoenix police officers as they stood outside a gas station early Tuesday morning.

Marc LaQuon Payne can be seen on video driving his car at the officers at a high rate of speed outside a QuikTrip gas station on Camelback Road off Interstate 17 shortly before 2 a.m., according to KNXV-TV.

Two of the police officers sustained serious injuries, but officials said they don't appear to be life-threatening. A third police officer was able to escape injury, but suffered minor wounds following a struggle with the suspect.

Phoenix police chief Joseph Yahner told reporters that it was a violent and cowardly act by the 44-year-old suspect and that the public should be outraged.

Payne taken into custody and booked on attempted murder charges.
