Ohio Sheriff's Deputy in Critical Condition Following Crash

Hamilton County Sheriff's Cpl. Adam McMillan is in critical condition after he was injured in a crash with a bus Thursday.

ADERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A Hamilton County Sheriff's deputy is in critical condition after he was injured in a crash with a bus Thursday evening.

Cpl. Adam McMillan suffered severe head trauma in the wreck at the intersection of Eight Mile Road and Beechmont Avenue, according to WCPO-TV.

The Metro bus driver sustained minor injuries and several other drivers were also involved in the crash.

Hamilton County Sheriff's spokesperson David Daugherty said that the 19-year veteran of the force was breathing but was unresponsive when first responders transported him to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center after the crash.

"At this time we appreciate you respecting our privacy. We do want to thank everyone for the incredible outpouring of support we have received from the public, particularly Adam’s brothers and sisters at the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office,"  injured deputy's family released the following statement Friday afternoon. "Please continue to pray for Adam during this time."

The crash remains under investigation.
