A man driving a pickup was arrested early Sunday in downtown Dallas after he crashed his truck into a pedestrian, a Dallas police horse and a car.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said. The horse and the two people who were in the car were not injured.
The driver, Adonis Hartfield, 25, didn’t stop until two wheels on his pickup came off in the 1400 block of Ross Avenue, near North Field Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway, police said.
The first crash happened about 1:30 a.m. in Deep Ellum when Hartfield was speeding west in the 2600 block of Elm Street and rammed into the car, police said. He kept driving and hit the pedestrian, then the police horse.
He was arrested and charged with intoxication assault with vehicle, possession of marijuana, accident involving serious bodily injury, damage to vehicle and a traffic violation, according to police.
Police did not provide further details about the incident.
