Neb. Police Officer Stabbed During Confrontation on Bus

A Lincoln police officer suffered injuries that weren't considered life-threatening after a suspect stabbed the officer before the alleged assailant was shot by another officer.

A Nebraska police officer was stabbed on a bus early Tuesday by a suspect who was shot by another officer.

The incident happened at around 12:15 a.m. at a Lincoln bus depot, the Omaha World-Herald reports. Police were on a bus when a suspect stabbed one of the officers. Another officer opened fire and wounded the suspect.

The officer and the suspect were taken to the hospital, and their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

No other details about the incident were released. Police are expected to give more information during a morning news conference.
