After Youngstown police officers handcuffed a man wanted on several warrants, the suspect tried to flee, only to trip and fall head-first into a cruiser.

A man wanted on several warrants tried to escape Ohio police custody Wednesday, but his own two feet tripped him up, and he fell head-first into a cruiser.

The embarrassing incident happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. when Youngstown police officers spotted a man with multiple warrants at a gas station, WKBN-TV reports. Police approached the man—identified as Jamel Patton—and took him into custody.

After cuffing Patton, officers asked if there was anything in his that they should know about. That's when Patton tried to make a break for it.

The wanted man only took a few steps before he tripped and fell into a cruiser. He was later taken to the hospital to be evaluated.

A search of Patton's car uncovered two plastic bags filled with narcotics. One bag was filled with a large amount of methamphetamine, and fentanyl and crack were also discovered.

Patton was arrested and charged on multiple felonies, including possession of methamphetamine and possession of ecstasy. He also was being held on the outstanding warrants.
