La. Trooper Struck by Falling Tree while Clearing Hurricane Francine Debris

A Louisiana State Police trooper was injured when a tree fell and struck him as he was trying to remove other downed trees from Hurricane Francine.

A Louisiana State Police trooper was struck by a fallen tree while clearing debris during Hurricane Francine.

Around 8 p.m. Wednesday, Troop A troopers were attempting to remove downed trees from the roadway on Interstate 10 eastbound, west of La. 22, when another tree fell and struck a trooper, State Police said.

The trooper was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

On Wednesday night, Hurricane Francine continued to pummel through the state, leaving fallen trees and downed power lines in its path.
