An armed man positioned himself in an upstairs bedroom window and fired numerous rounds at Pennsylvania State Police troopers during a domestic dispute in White Township.

INDIANA, PA – A New York man killed himself Saturday after firing numerous rounds at state troopers who responded to a domestic dispute in White Township, Indiana County, authorities said.

Troopers were called to an apartment building at 4857 Lucerne Road at 9:57 p.m. after a man reported his son was armed with a semi-automatic rifle, according to a state police news release.

The man was outside the apartment when several troopers arrived.

Henry Divinskiy, 22, was holed up inside. Divinskiy allegedly positioned himself in an upstairs bedroom window and fired numerous rounds into the parking area below.

Several rounds allegedly struck a marked patrol car and nearly struck a trooper.

A trooper tackled Divinskiy’s father to the ground to protect him from gunshots, the news release said.

The trooper and Divinskiy’s father took cover on the ground near the patrol car.

Troopers did not return fire.

The Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team responded along with other troopers.

SERT members made several attempts to contact Divinskiy.

Troopers used a drone and observed Divinskiy on the bedroom floor. When SERT members made entry into the apartment they found Divinskiy deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
