Pediatric Defibrillation Electrodes

Aug. 20, 2007
Designed for use with Cardiac Science's own AEDs, the pediatric electrodes provide reduced defibrillation energy for children and infants up to 8 years old or up to 55 pounds. The pediatric electrodes are suitably sized for children's smaller torsos - less than half the size of the adult AED electrodes. The recommended pad placement is anterior/posterior. The pads are disposable, non-polarized, and interchangeable (either pad can be placed on the patient's chest or back). The shelf life for the pads is 24 months from the date of manufacture. Energy delivered through the pediatric electrode pads is reduced by the built-in attenuator. The pediatric electrode pads can be used to monitor a patient for up to 2 hours and deliver up to 15 shocks.
