The stock from Choate Machine & Tool begins as an aluminum v-block, then it is machined to exact tolerances to free float an officers action using the aluminum v-block as a bedding block. Choate attached aluminum pillars to the bottom of the v-block there the action screws go. The 80/20 polypropylene/fiberglass stock is molded around the aluminum bedding v-block and aluminum pillars. The aluminum v-block continues from the rear of the receiver and ends at the front of the rail. It is a one piece construction that adds to the rigidity of the stock. The free-floated barrel does not contact the stock. It will accommodate standard barrels up to bull barrels. The action touches on both sides of the V-Block, front and back, and at the front of the barrel lug. The Tactical Stock also incorporates Choate's spacer system. There are sling studs on both sides of the front and rear of the stock and an aluminum rail for use with bipods. The Tactical Stock is currently being made for Remington Short Action, Remington Short Action Detachable Magazine, ADL and BDL, Savage Short Action, Savage Short Action Center Feed, and Savage Short Action Detachable Mag. We WILL be making it for Long Actions in both Remington and Savage.
