Safariland announced today that it has released the Model 5122 EDW Open Top Holster with Belt Clip, an all-new compact duty holster design featuring open top access with trigger guard retention for the recently released Taser X2 electronic discharge weapon.
The Model 5122 has been designed to make the new Taser X2 model available at a moment’s notice, yet remains completely secure during the rigorous activities encountered by police and security officers on a daily basis. Built with a molded retention detent in the trigger guard area, the X2 slides easily into the holster, automatically engaging the weapon’s safety, and is secured in place. To draw, the user simply pulls straight up on the weapon’s grip.
In addition to the Model 5122, also available is the 6520 EDW SLS Holster with Belt Clip. The Model 6520 features the attributes of 5122 with the addition of the patented SLS (Self Locking System) rotating hood. This hood provides the holster with Level II Retention for officers who may require the increased security offered by this design. With this added fit, the Model 6520 is now available for the Taser M26, X26, X3, and X2.
Both Models 5122 and 6520 can be worn either strong side or cross draw, and utilize the Safariland 745BL, a retention-rated and versatile belt clip, which fits belt widths from 1.5 inches to 2.25 inches. Further, they both feature an enclosed bottom with drain hole to help prevent accidental discharge into the leg while allowing water to pass through. Both models are offered in the rugged, molded thermoplastic construction in all STX finishes including STX Basketweave and STX Tactical. Colors include: Black, Foliage, Flat Dark Earth Brown and OD. The 6520 is also offered in the popular SafariLaminate thermal-molded construction with the leather-look finishes of Plain, Basket, Hi Gloss and Nylon Look.
