MD 50 spotting scope

Dec. 17, 2007

The new Minox MD 50 W Spotting Scope may well be the most travel-friendly ever. Only about 8 ½ inches long and weighing just 21.69 ounces, it delivers 16x to 30x magnification with bright, high-resolution images. With the variable eyepiece set at 16x, there are times when the MD 50 W can be handheld; however, for optimum performance, a tripod is recommended. For high light transmission, brilliance and natural color rendition, the high resolution objective lens system features the exclusive multi-layer M*Coating developed by Minox. Another feature created by Minox design-engineers is an extremely close-focus range, so you can go smoothly from 16 feet, 5 inches right through to infinity. The angled shape of the scope offers a more relaxed viewing stance, and with its swivel tripod connection the scope can be pivoted while on the tripod. Minox has created a strong but lightweight body that is robust enough to protect the precision mechanics and optics, and rubber armor provides both a good grip and further protection. The MD 50 W is dust-proof and watertight to 16 feet, 5 inches, and Nitrogen filling prevents corrosion and fogging caused by condensation, even with extreme temperature changes. It comes with a nylon carrying case and a pocket tripod.
