Smith ' Wesson has rolled out its Military ' Police (M'P) Series of advanced-design polymer pistols. The company's first pistol in the series will be the M'P 40, available initially in a full-size model and later in a compact model. The full-size pistol will initially be chambered in .40 S'W with a magazine capacity of 15+1 and later in a 9mm with a magazine capacity of 17+1 and .357 SIG with a 15+1 capacity. For enhanced durability, the M'P has a Zytel polymer frame reinforced with a ridged steel chassis and a thru-hardened black melonite stainless-steel barrel and slide. The M'P pistol also features three interchangeable palmswell grip sizes. Easily accommodating various hand sizes, the grips can be changed by the user in a matter of seconds.
