At SHOT show 2013, STI proudly unveiled their retooled and expanded Duty One line by adding a 4.0-inch version as well as a 3.0-inch version, both of which incorporate the updates added to the already popular 5.0-inch model.
The Duty One has long been a great seller for STI but in 2013 they took the opportunity to incorporate Customer suggested changes into the model before expanding the line to include the 3-inch and 4-inch versions.
Changes include new ‘grid’ serrations and matching front strap which are as stylish as they are functional, abbreviated front cocking serrations, a redesigned tactical rail, smaller engravings, and new G10 Micarta grips. All 3 versions are built on forged steel, standard width frames with STI’s innovative new picitany rail system. Flat checkered mainspring housings provide an excellent hold and the controls are STI International’s singled sided thumb safeties and STI International high-rise beavertail grip safeties. The Duty One features include traditional 1911 styling with lowered and flared ejection port, STI TAS adjustable low-snag rear sight and the STI ramped front for an easy sight picture. The barrels are either a 5.01-inch or 4.26-inch fully supported STI International ramped barrel with match grade bushing or, in the case of the Duty One 3.0, a 3.24-inch bull barrel. All Duty One pistols come standard with STI International commander style hammers and patented STI International trigger systems.
The Duty One family is offered exclusively in traditional matte blue finishes. Grip panels are STI’s distinctive black G-10 Micarta. The Duty One series pistols are available in .45 ACP, .40S&W, and 9x19.
