    ArmaLite's AR-10 rifle is designed with the long-range shot in mind. The barrel is smoothed through a process called bore lapping, which makes the barrel more uniform from end to end and improves accuracy. The .308 caliber rifle has a felt recoil similar to a .223 caliber, and is also equipped with a two-stage match-trigger. This leaves less room for movement of the barrel and again provides a more accurate shot.
