Utilizing Winchester's .300WSM, the Tactical M40-300 features a short action length, yet provides long action magnum performance. The .300WSM launches the same weight bullet as the .308 a full 10 1/2 feet flatter in its 1,000-yard trajectory than the .308, yet gives up none of the inherent accuracy of the .308. The .300 WSM is a mild recoiling cartridge in a heavy barreled precision rifle. The use of a dual expansion port brake cuts recoil down to the level of a .243. The Tactical M40-300 from Tactical Rifles is supplied with mil-spec parts including heavyweight steel floorplate, and is available with all the same stock configuration options as the standard M40 -- A1, A2 and A5.
