Heckler & Koch (HK) has developed the HK416 Enhanced Carbine to provide a high degree of performance as required by special operations units. To improve reliability, service life and operator safety, HK has produced its cold hammer forged barrel for the HK416 in 10-, 14 1/2-, 16 1/2- and 20-inch lengths. An innovative, free-floating, four-quadrant rail system allows all current standard accessories and sights to be fitted to the HK416 and can be removed without tools.The HK-proprietary gas system reduces operator cleaning time and increases the reliability of the 5.56x45mm NATO-caliber weapon.
