Ashbury Precision Ordnance Mfg. developed the largest in its line of modular rifle chassis system with the introduction of the second generation MT-50A1 MOD-1 for the McMillan 50BMG action and TAC-50 rifle in .50 BMG caliber. The SABER MT-50A1 rifle chassis features a sleek forward sweeping 30MOA unitized monolithic rail design, McMillan's newly designed double tab 5-round detachable magazine and shares many of he advanced ergonomic and accuracy enhancing features of other SABER-FORSSST MOD-1 chassis platforms. SABER chassis are precision manufactured in compliance with ISO:9001 standards from aerospace grade alloys, advanced composites and lightweight high strength carbon fiber materials. MOD-0 and MOD-1 modular rifle chassis are available for GA Precision Defiance, HS Precision, McMillan, Remington 700, SAKO, Savage Arms, Surgeon, and Weatherby rifles with 5 or 10 round capacity magazines, in right and left-hand models.
The SABER MT-50 A1 was developed as a contemporary alternative to the traditional fiberglass rifle stock and to provide greater operational capabilities for users of the venerable TAC-50 rifle. The McMillan 50 MBG barreled action is installed in the new MT-50A1 MOD-1 modular rifle chassis in less than 30 minutes by a gunsmith or armorer. The combined SABER Center Chassis Section and monolithic rail assembly solidly locks the .50 BMG barreled action into the SABER chassis with nearly 13.528 square per inch of rigid contact surface delivering vibration-dampening enhanced long range accuracy. Distinctive recoil reducing shot to shot consistency and unparalleled user ergonomics are key attributes of the MT50 chassis.
The SABER-FORSST MT-50A1 MOD-1 Modular Rifle Chassis System features a detachable "tool-less" push button adjustable hybrid (PBA-H) Shoulder Stock with adjustments for cheek piece/comb height, length of pull (LOP), and vertical recoil pad position. the Center Chassis Section utilizes the MAGPUL M1AD modular conformable hand grip, 17.5-degree grip angle adapter (the same grip angle as the 1911 pistol) and hand-grip to trigger distance adjustment, both changeable with just one screw! the Quattro Forend provides and advanced ergonomic carbon fiber design and incorporates a heat/mirage reduction thermal management system. the unitized monolithic 12 o'clock MIL-STD 1913 rail allows co-linear mounting of day optical sights, night vision devices and thermal imagers. The 3 and 9 o'clock forend positions have mounting points for repositionable 12-inch and 4-inch accessory rails to attach a variety of accessories (e.g. lights, laser pointers and illuminators). the 6 o'clock rail position allows the use of a bipod. the SABER chassis has multiple flush cup sling swivel attachment points along the length of the chassis. The MT50 chassis weighs approximately 8.6 pounds.
