Texas School District Police Officer Shoots Man Accused of Attacking Him

A man is accused of attacking a Cypress Fairbanks school district police officer outside an administrative building in Houston, and he was shot by the officer when a deputy came to help.

A man was shot by a Cy-Fair ISD police officer Sunday morning after he allegedly attacked the officer outside a district administrative building, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Outside the Windfern Administration Annex building in the 125000 block of Windfern Road, a sheriff's deputy witnessed an altercation between the man and the district police officer and tried to help the officer, a spokesperson for the sheriff's office said.

It was then the man allegedly attacked one of the officers, causing the district officer to shoot the man, the spokesperson said.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition but he was expected to recover from his injuries. The deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The sheriff's office was investigating the shooting.
