Florida police needed to deploy a Taser twice and get help from a lifeguard to eventually handcuff and apprehend a woman accused of spray-painting a swastika on a bar's wall.
The incident happened Friday after Jacksonville Beach police were investigating a swastika and the word "NEO" (as in "neo-Nazi," according to police) painted on a wall off Mango's Beach Bar, First Coast News reports. When an officer caught up with a suspect, the woman hurriedly picked up her backpack and began walking away toward a beach exit.
The officer tried to restrain the woman, but she continued to flee to the beach. Once on the beach, the officer used his Taser as the woman was running toward the water.
While the woman was on the ground, officers tried to handcuff her, but she resisted. A Taser was deployed again, but police were still unable to cuff her.
Finally, three officers and a lifeguard were able to get the handcuffs on her. The woman was charged with criminal mischief and resisting arrest.
No injuries were reported.
