A warning was issued to police in Colorado after a threatening call was made to the Aurora Police Department Sunday afternoon.
After the initial call was made, the information was immediately relayed to neighboring departments, according to KMGH-TV.
"Party stating that he was going to shoot any police officer he saw by themselves," a dispatcher is heard saying alerting other officers.
Aurora Police Public Information Officer Diana Cooley told the news station that the department is on high alert because of attacks on police across the country and that patrol procedures have been made following the threat.
On Sunday night, Aurora police officers were fired on while responding to a call but investigators do not believe it was related to the threat.
Police have not made any arrests and the investigation into the threat is ongoing.
