DENVER – June 30, 2015 – FENIX LIGHTING US, a leader in precision LED lighting products for hands, heads and handlebars, has launched the PD35 TAC (Tactical Edition) LED flashlight in the US. With the PD35 TAC’s launch, Fenix has taken one of its most popular handhelds, the PD35, and enhanced it for tactical employment for military, public safety and law enforcement professionals.
“The key difference in this light is a fundamental operational change that has been requested from our law enforcement and military consumers,” says Beau Shrum, Fenix Lighting president. ”The confidence in knowing the exact operation and power of this light make it the ideal duty light.”
Still in the original pocket size of 5.5 inches long, the PD35 TAC now features two operational modes. For fast and simplified functionality, the new Tactical Mode turns off the side switch and activates the momentary, turbo, strobe and low modes through the rear switch. In Outdoor Mode, the PD35 TAC allows for standard flashlight operation; the side switch controls all six modes and the rear switch simply turns the light on and off. The PD35 TAC enlists the CREE XP-L (V5) LED technology to deliver up to 1000 lumens in turbo output and a beam distance of up to 200 meters.
Key redesign elements for the PD35 TAC are the new strike face bezel and steel side switch button. Like the original, the PD35 TAC flashlight is powered by two CR123A batteries or a single rechargeable 18650 battery. The anti-roll, slip-resistant body design is made of aircraft-grade aluminum and is IPX-8 waterproof to 2 meters. These features make the PD35 TAC resistant to damage from impact, crushing or bending, while remaining small, light and extremely powerful. MSRP is $94.00.
