Designer Tom Krein exercised his mastery of design in the new Gungho™. Strikingly simple, this everyday carry folding knife features an all-over dark black look that carries easily and is right at home in the garage.
Krein has given the Gungho™ an unassuming 2.7” tanto-style blade finished in black oxide and balanced it with an equally dark-and-mysterious handle to form the sturdy bones of this daily workhorse. While the top is textured G10 for excellent grip, the opposing side is stainless steel that gives it visual intrigue and slips in and out of a pocket with ease.
A thumb stud deploys the blade at incredible speed with the assistance of OutBurst® technology. Once open, it’s held fast by a frame lock, and when it’s returned to the closed position, the powerful OutBurst® spring holds it securely in place.
Over the years, Krein has built a serious reputation for himself as a master of his craft. Now, with the release of the Gungho™, he has a definitive cornerstone in his legacy. When asked about inspiration for the design, Krien says, “I draw strong influences from early custom knifemakers and find beauty in the clean lines of Art Deco and the arts and crafts movement.”

How OutBurst® Assisted Opening Works
Manually open the blade up to 30 degrees and the patented OutBurst® assisted opening mechanism springs the knife fully open so that you’re good to go. The powerful spring also holds the blade securely closed when not in use.
