A NYPD K-9 hurt during a gun raid in Brooklyn earlier this month is back on the job after recovering from his injuries.
K-9 Timoshenko, named after fallen Detective Russel Timoshenko, fell through a ceiling while conducting a search at a residence on Aug. 10, according to The Staten Island Advance.
Timoshenko along with the rest of his unit executed the warrant at a home on Seabring Street in Red Hook around 7:45 p.m. and while searching the attic of the home, the German shepherd signaled where firearms were being kept when the ceiling gave out. He sustained lacerations to his paw and was treated at a local animal hospital and received eight stitches.
"We are happy to report that ESU K9 'Timmy' is back to work after having his stitches removed," a post to the NYPD Special Operations Division Twitter feed reads.
Detective Benny Colecchia is seen holding his K-9 partner Timoshenko -- also known as Timmy -- in a photo posted to the Twitter feed.
