Combat Search and Rescue Tool Fixed-Blade

Dec. 20, 2010

After those who really depend on a rugged knife in the most demanding conditions welcomed the TOPS/Buck CSAR-T folder, it was inevitable there would be demand for a fixed-blade model. And now Buck has combined with their Idaho collaborator TOPS to create another high-performance tactical/survival knife, this time with a full-tang 4 1/2 inches fixed blade.

The highly functional modified Tanto blade reflects the years of TOPS expertise in meeting the specialized demands of professionals in law enforcement, military and other tactical fields. It is a hefty 0.18 inches thick, and Buck's heat treat process brings the 420HC stainless steel to an optimum hardness of Rc 58-60. It has a non-reflective, corrosion-resistant Zirblast finish. A slot in the blade provides for oxygen bottle adjustments and wire bending.

With a contoured and grooved Rocky Mountain Tread G-10 handle, it provides the strength and secure grip needed in the harshest conditions. Adding to its versatility, the handle has an integrated hex driver, shaped at its end to serve as a dependable impact and prying tool.

Overall length is 10 inches and it weighs 8.8 ounces. The MOLLE compatible nylon combat sheath has a front pocket. It all adds up to fulfilling the promise of its name: CSAR-T – Combat, Search and Rescue Tool.
