An Arizona sheriff's deputy was shot in the head while he was in his car Thursday.
The Pima County deputy was found in his vehicle at about 3 p.m. near Interstate 10 on Tucson's south side, the Arizona Daily Star reports. He was on duty at the time and was taken to a hospital, where he was undergoing surgery.
The deputy was in critical condition, but no other details about his injuries were released.
No arrests have been made, and Sheriff Chris Nanos said there was no clear threat to the public.
The shooting is under investigation.
