2 Campus Officers Shot in Active Shooter Incident at Va. College

At least one law enforcement officer was shot during an active shooter incident at a Virginia college Tuesday.
The incident happened at Bridgewater College, a private liberal arts college in Bridgewater, ABC News reports. Rockingham County sheriff's deputies responded to reports of an active shooter on the campus, and a shelter in place order was issued.
Along with the deputies, the Virginia State Police, the Harrisonburg police and other SWAT units and law enforcement agencies also responded to the college, WHSV-TV reports. Shortly before 1:30 p.m., Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin said the shooter had been taken into custody.
"I have been briefed on the situation at Bridgewater College," he stated in an online update. "The shooter is in custody and state and local police are on the scene. I will continue to monitor the situation in conjunction with law enforcement."
It's unclear what led to the law enforcement officer being shot during the incident. No details were released concerning the nature or severity of the injuries.
