Ga. Police Officer Shot, Wounded at Domestic Disturbance Call

Authorities are searching for a 22-year-old suspect in connection with the shooting of a Henry County police officer during a domestic disturbance call near McDonough.

A Georgia police officer was shot and wounded during a domestic disturbance late Thursday.

The shooting happened when a Henry County police officer responded to a domestic dispute near McDonough, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Shots were fired, and the officer was struck.

The officer was taken to the hospital, but no details were release concerning the nature and extent of the injuries.

Police are searching for 22-year-old suspect, who fled the scene in a 2016 Honda Civic.
